Filmmakers worldwide can enter this contest.
The Cairo International Film Festival Foundation (CIFFF) is accepting submissions for its 35th International Film Festival, which will take place November 27-December 6.
The festival's competition is divided into three sections:
international feature films, Arab feature films and human rights films.
Submissions to the international feature film category must be at least
60 minutes long.
Directors of films submitted to the Arab feature
category must be Arabic or of Arabic origin, and the films should
address an Arabic-related subject. All films submitted for judging in
any of the three categories should have been produced after December
2011.
The original versions of each film will be screened with English subtitles.
First-place winners in the international feature category will
receive US$50,000; the first-place winner in the Arab feature category
will receive US$30,000; and the human rights first-place winner will
receive a certificate.
The aim of the festival is to allow meetings between professionals
and to build bridges between workers in the field of visual media from
different cultures, promoting the industry in Egypt, the Arab world and
other countries.
The festival is sponsored by public and private organizations in Egypt and around the world.
The submission deadline is August 31.
