African filmmakers ages 18 and older can submit stories for a chance to win
US$25,000.
The Afrinolly Shortfilm Competition is accepting video storytelling on
African issues with a focus on creativity and narrative. The competition aims to
motivate and reward skilled emerging filmmakers.
Categories include short movie and documentary. First, second and third place
in each category will receive US$25,000, $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.
Running time for each video must be no longer than 15 minutes, including any
titles and/or credits. The competition is accepting only films distributed to
the public after Jan. 1, 2013. Entries may be submitted in one of the following
languages: Afrikaans, English, French, Swahili and Yoruba.
This edition of the competition is conducted in partnership with MTN Nigeria,
the iRepresent International Documentary Film Festival and Goethe Institut.
The deadline is Nov. 30.
