Reporting fellowships on environmental issues open [Worldwide]

Environmental journalists worldwide can apply for a US$20,000 fellowship to cover specific environmental topics.

Mongabay.org is launching a fellowship program - Special Reporting Initiatives (SRI) - for in-depth reporting on key environmental themes under a given topic.

The author of top proposal will receive US$15,000 as a stipend and up to US$5,000 for reporting and travel costs. The fellow will have three months for travel/research and three months for writing. He or she can work from anywhere in the world.

Mongabay currently has three topics to cover:
Community forestry as a climate change solution
Is there demand for sustainable fisheries' products in China?
Cleaning up commodity supply chains
The application deadline is Jan. 31.
