The BBC seeks an experienced journalist with a proven record in reporting business and the sizeable changes in the global economy.
The chief business correspondent will have excellent contacts across a wide spectrum of business, detailed knowledge of and insight into business in Asia and demonstrable experience of reporting on and from a diverse range of countries, notably the BRICs and other emerging markets. Candidates should also have a good understanding of the cultural, commercial and political issues in those areas; knowledge of language in the region is highly desirable.
Online coverage will be central to the role and you should have a strong awareness of the opportunities offered by social media in the role both as a newsgathering tool and as a way of communicating the agenda to the widest possible audience.
