Nonprofits, for-profits or individuals of any age worldwide can submit innovative ideas to a contest.
The Knight News Challenge
is a contest that aims to accelerate innovation in news and information
by funding the best new ideas and supporting them through its network
of peers and advisors.
Round three of the challenge will focus on harnessing the power of
mobile devices to improve news, information, communities and democracy.
The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation will fund marketing and promotion for winning ideas, as well as what it takes to design, develop and implement the idea.
Applications must be in English, but projects can take place
worldwide. Applicants can submit ideas between August 29 and September
10.
