Nigerian journalists with a strong interest in culture and music can attend a workshop in Lagos.
Participants will be tutored on the standards of review and critique, interviewing and feature writing. The program also seeks to identify potential contributors for the magazine and develop the magazine's concept further to fit the requirements of the local market.
The magazine's goal is to initiate more content-driven discourse on contemporary Nigerian music. The project will be closely linked to the regional Music in Africa initiative.
Florian Sievers, a German journalist with SPEX magazine, and Edward Keazor, a regional editor for Music in Africa, will lead the workshop in English.
The workshop will take place May 19-23.
The deadline to apply is May 9.
