KAS Media Africa
is offering two scholarships to do a full-time honors or master's
degree (MA or BA Hons in Journalism and Media Studies) at the University of Witwatersrand's Journalism Program in Johannesburg.
Candidates will work closely with KAS Media Africa during their stay
in Johannesburg and write a bimonthly narrative report on their study
progress.
The scholarship includes one return flight to Johannesburg, a monthly
stipend of ZAR7,000 (US$698), coverage of study fees and health
insurance costs, and a one-time payment of ZAR2,500 (US$249) for study
material.
For the honors program, candidates must have at least three years’
working experience. Candidates must also either have an undergraduate
degree or pass an entrance test.
For the master's program, candidates must have a degree equivalent to
the BA Hons in journalism and at least three years’ working experience.
Applicants must submit electronically to journinfoATwits.ac.za a
motivation letter, a CV, writing samples, at least two letters of
nomination/reference by a senior journalist, publisher or academic, and a
completed Wits application form.
Candidates will have to make themselves available for a (Skype) interview.
